Sa Loob at Labas

*Bible Readings: Isaiah 4:2-6; Psalm 122:1-9; Matthew 8:5-11

(Ahem, sorry for the joke.)

But seriously, why not let them into your heart? Into your life? It’s not like not accepting them will make your half-siblings or your parent’s sins go away.

Madaling sabihin na yun ang mas makakabuting gawin but doing that is very difficult. Which is why it is a great show of love and mercy for God to want to include all of us in His family and Kingdom, kahit pa hindi tayo kasama sa chosen race of Israelites.

Magiging unfair ba si Lord kunsakaling Hindi Nya tayo isasama in His Kingdom? Hindi, dahil karapatan Nya yun. (Ang hirap sa ating mga created beings we either do not acknowledge God’s existence or His being Creator or His Lordship yet we demand so much from Him, even things that are not in our rights to ask because they are His… we try to rob God of so many things.)

But God, in His Great Goodness and Grace has decided to let us in His Kingdom and adopt all of us in His Family.

I rejoiced because they said to me, “We will go up to the house of the Lord.” (Psalm 122:1)

Ganito sana ang reaction natin everytime we think of God or every time we approach His Presence, in prayer or in worship. Do you feel grateful everytime you pray?

Will it make sense for that homeless, out-of-mind stranger to say and ask those things from you?

Mabuti pa yung centurion sa Gospel Reading* sa kabila ng posisyon nya as a Roman official in front of a Jewish Rabbi, alam kung paano ilulugar ang sarili nya in front of Jesus: “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof…” (Matthew 8:8)

At dahil dun Jesus honored the centurion and all like Him to be included in His family and kingdom (verses 11-12). Tayo kaya, will we know our place in front of the God and Creator of the universe?

When Jesus hears our prayer, will He be amazed too and exclaim, “No one in Israel have I found such faith.”
